Here at Sonoco Recycling we’ve spent the last 100 years collecting and reprocessing waste paper and cardboard, converting it into useful paperboard products.
From our Halifax based paper mill, we aim to provide a tailored waste management service built around your needs; whether you need small collections using our local wheelie bin collection service, office recycling, larger quantities of loose or baled materials collecting from one site or multiple sites.
We offer recycling services for cardboard, paper and plastics but can also offer Sonoco Sustainability Solutions for total waste management of all your waste. The majority of the cardboard and paper collected and delivered is sourced as raw material for our mills throughout Europe.

Sonoco UK: A circular business model for the circular economy
Sonoco’s operations consist of three primary divisions – its consumer packaging business; its industrial businesses, including ‘Sonoco Recycling’, one of the world’s largest recyclers; and All Other, which is focused primarily on the healthcare and retail security sectors. Sonoco Halifax, has the capacity to recycle 125,000 tonnes every year, including beverage cartons, laminated paper products, wastepaper and cardboard, with the specialist capability to recycle all packaging that Sonoco puts onto the UK market and actively reprocesses the recovered fibre into new packaging materials.
